Hermanus Whale Watching
This is a full day tour (8 hours).
Hermanus, a coastal town in the Western Cape, was originally a fishing village in the early 1800s. It gained fame in the 20th century for being one of the best land-based whale-watching spots in the world, particularly for observing Southern Right Whales.
The area’s relationship with the sea evolved from subsistence fishing and whaling (now banned) to eco-tourism and conservation.
Highlights
Experience the majesty of Southern Right Whales up close, and look out for Humpback whales and playful dolphins in their natural habitat on a scenic boat cruise. Along the way to Hermanus, enjoy sightings of penguins and seals. Please note that whale and dolphin viewing is seasonal.
